Sitting in front of her childhood television set, Jamaican native, Stacy-Ann Rose became enthralled with acting watching The Cosby Show. Instantly knowing she wanted to pursue an acting career, she set out to find opportunities in the industry.

Moving to South Florida at the age of 15, Rose has experienced the best of two worlds growing up in a Jamaican household. She received her Bachelor’s in International Business and Marketing from Florida International University and has since pursued her acting career head on.

“Miami reminds me so much of Jamaica with a touch of city flare,” Rose says. “Two amazing cultures converge in Miami and everyone is allowed to be their best selves without forgetting where they came from.”

She has previously appeared in TV and film roles in “Dolphin Tale”, “Hoot” and “Burn Notice.” Rose now has a recurring role on HBO’s “Ballers” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a friendly physician. Rose’s character, Dr. Robbins, is the Rock’s neurologist turned therapist and close friend.

The actress has taken her talents behind the camera as a producer on her 2nd full length feature film, “Break The Stage”. The movie profiles a young girl coming to terms with personal challenges in life all whilst leading her step team to a national championship. Deeply rooted in South Florida’s entertainment scene, Rose set out to give South Floridians actors a platform to be noticed in the film.

“There’s so much talent in South Florida that goes unnoticed and underappreciated.” says Rose. “I want moviegoers to walk away from the film feeling inspired to love, forgive and dream.”

Rose takes on a whole new role as 2016’s Miami Broward Carnival appointed Celebrity Grand Marshall.

“Although I’ve never been to a Caribbean carnival, just knowing how exciting and inviting the Caribbean culture is, I know it will be a life-changing experience.” says Rose.
